In our hands

Trees shrieking in agony, their arms and bodies severed mercilessly,

Blazing red engulfing the remaining barren land.

Suffocating dense smog, silently smothering us in darkness,

A scorched landscape devoid of hope.

Sea creatures gagging desperately, swollen bodies floating, lifeless,

In seas choking on gluggy, poisonous pools of black.

Catastrophic hurricanes destroying everything in their path,

Weakened bodies lie moaning in anguish, all comforts ruined in their stricken habitat.

Imagine …

Clear skies coming alive with fluttering wings,

Bees singing with love and excitement.

Cool oceans shimmering like exquisite deep blue mirrors,

Sea creatures jubilantly twirling, flipping, hunting plentiful prey within.

Animals energetic, ambitious, healthy,

Bolting across grassy green savannas.

Forests, canopies of emeralds,

Nature joyfully whispering secrets in a flourishing world of rainbow hues.

Our destiny … is in our hands.
