Innocent Abuse

His fur is scruffy. Damp. Muddy.
A limb detached; freshly torn.
He’s crying out in agony,
as rough hands seize him,
swinging him round joyfully,
oblivious to their abuse.
Then he lies motionless,
fearing
his next playtime.
