Koala forest

Tall, strong standing gum trees stretching high into the sky 

The relaxing warm sun on his back, the koala sleeping in the tall strong gum tree. snoozing in the relaxing sun as a sense of serenity covers the land accompanied with the cleansing smell of eucalyptus filling the grand forest. As the sun sets over the calm land and as golden light fills the air and darkness sets on the ground revealing a whole new world.

As I drive down the long dry road observing the carnage of the bush fires. Koalas lying and scrabbling through the blackened skeletal trees of their burnt home as sadness crammed my heart. The stench of charred wood filled my nose as we drove away from the grave like forest.
