Lightning

Midnight clouds disowned white shards banishing
Them down to earth, a salty lake rippled imprinting
The battle between blue and black up in the void
Above, the majestic sunset was not seen that dusk
As it was obscured by what looked like an old-fashioned movie
Colourless and dull, thunder cackled
Above, a dark dome watching its impact spread
A fresh drizzle contributed to purifying the putrid
Province and scaring away the scoundrels who
Scarred the terrain, puddles of rain reunited
Turning the district that became the victim into
An abominable field until the sun showed mercy
On the scattered bolts and returned them
To the sky - evaporation, condensation then
Precipitation, and in the process lives are taken,
Everytime the sun awakes more chaos is
Caused, these shards destroyed like they
Have many times before sometimes we need to
Take a step back and understand all we can do is
Appreciate
