Lime green feathers with a hint of blue,

Painted upon a red sky and dew,
Teasing sealers with your nimble flight,
Surveying your island with delight.

The wind gusting with insulting jabs,
Swooping silently for crevassed crabs,
Climbing back into the deep blue plain,
Above the undergrowth without strain.

Listening to the forest’s chatter,
Tucking into your hard-earned platter,
Salty spray whipping your woven wings,
Watching wildlife, in tightly turned rings.

Returning home to your concealed nest,
Cuddling the chicks that you love best,
Lime green feathers with a hint of blue,
Painted upon a red sky and dew.
