Lost Purpose

Thrown once again,
Into the deep darkness of the Murray,
Sinking to the bottom,
The endless depth of the river,
Carried through two branches,
Trapped,
Stuck,
Worthless,
Suddenly there were several tugs
I wasn’t coming free,
I was captured,
They gave up,
I was left there,
Cornered, venerable,
Now a lost purpose,
Still I lay here,
Waiting.
