Thunk, Thunk, Thunk, CRASH!

The tree falls and lies bare on the forest floor

Birds scatter and scream

The axe is raised once more

Thunk, Thunk, Thunk

Another CRASH!

Another tree joins the first

Caw, Caw, Caw

Birds shout of murder in the forest

Once more, at last the axe is raised

One more tree joins the two

The axe is packed up and trees carried away

A silence fills the forest

As everyone knows

The wisest of them

Who have faced more winters

Than you and me will now be splinters
