My Best Friend Cookie

I had a doggie named cookie;
His fur so soft and brown;
He’d help me get to sleep at night;
And turn a frown around;
I’d cuddle him night, dawn and through each day;
And whisper in his floppy ears;
Let’s be best friends today;
Together forever we planned to be;
Never to lose each other’s sight;
But when a rip appeared in his neck;
I got an awful fright;
Thank goodness for my mother;
Who repaired his neck with thread;
And stopped the fluffy stuffing;
Coming out from inside his head;
My wonderful, lovely Cookie;
A better friend you could not be;
So, let’s plan our next adventure…
