My Cricket Kit

Born in a factory, October 2016.
When I saw it at the shops,
it reached out to me,
saying, “Take me, take me please.”
But it wasn't the kit on its own that was so special,
it was the things it got filled with.

First came the gear,
Helmet and thigh guard,
I’ve been using it since.
Then came some little mementos,
Like old cricket balls.
There's memories you can't see, like handshakes with other teams.
But its not full yet,
There's still memories to come.

There's memories a plenty, like grass on a field,
Special, sometimes sweaty!
But I love it so much.
