My Disability is My Ability

My hearing is depleted drastically
I live in a world of dull and boring tones
I’ve never heard the sound of my family's voices
And without my hearing aids there’s zero

Some people with the same problem as me
Give up and lose control of who they are
I’m cursed with the problem of never hearing
But I don’t give up which to some seems bizarre

My hearing aids are my super power
They lift me up and even higher
Without them I cannot hear
And with them they are my ears

Everything is a lot harder with all my disabilities
But that doesn’t stop me from doing all my hobbies
In my spare time I ride my skateboard doing tricks and ollies
Or writing books or filming some movies

A message to anyone with a disability
In a tough time remember this
“My disability is my ability”
So treat it like a gift
