My First Medal

I have had it for 5 years
It is very special to me
It sits up on my cupboard
Looking as beautiful as can be

When the man announced my name
I was very, very proud
I stepped up on the box
My mum screamed, very, very loud

I looked at my coach
She gave me a big smile
I winked at her back
And smiled for a while

I was so happy
I will never forget that day
If it got destroyed
I will never go out and play
