My Gold Dance Trophy

Standing tall and proud,
on my bookshelf of display
boasting of my success and pride
is my trophy for my outstanding dance.

I remember it like it was yesterday,
dancing in front of more than one thousand people
at the end of the performance
the clapping and cheering of the audience.

Then at the end of the concert
I hear my name
and see the trophy glistening
against the hands of an elderly woman.

She hands me the golden trophy which has stars on it
I bend down and touch her feet
and she blesses me in return.
I turn and smile at the camera and walk off the stage after it flashes.

And that's how I got the trophy
the one standing tall and proud
on my bookshelf of display
Boasting of my success and pride on that wonderful day.
