My Ice-skates

They glide on frozen water
Like a swan majestic and calm on a raging lake
Metal slowly devouring ice
Leather accumulating flakes of snow
A house keeping its owner safe from the cold
A part of me yet separate
A savage beast yet a tame pet
It rumbles in a low smooth tone
Sending warmth not cold through my body
Clink, clink, clink
