My Monkey

A gift from when I was born,
Seems to be old as time,
With me every step of the way,

The chosen one,
Chosen from the many gifted toys,
He was the one for me,

Fur still as soft as when he was new
Still in one piece, after all this time,
He is still with me,

Better than a shield at night,
Better than a sword at day,
A protects me at all times,

My monkey is my best friend
And one I will have forever
