My Necklace

Wandering into the Tiffany store
We reached the beginning of the first floor
Rings, bracelets, earrings too
Diamonds within extremely close view
One thing caught my eye
This had to be the necklace we buy
A chain connecting two hearts together
Reminded me of metallic leather
The other charm was a crisp blue
Captured the ocean all the way through
I loved that necklace immensely
I was attached to it intently
Then one day I woke to it gone
I looked from dust till dawn
Desperate, I searched and searched
In a gutter, I found it perched
Overjoyed and filled with delight
Finally, things may be almost alright
My necklace is my favourite thing
If I lose it again, I’m sure it will really sting
