My 'Silent Ball'

Round and shiny, shimmering bright,
it fills the room with sheer delight.
Children playing 'silent ball'
being careful not to fall,
hoping on one leg is not as simple as it seems,
Strategies are needed as we begin to lean.
After all it's 'silent ball'.
"Right hand on your head",
the teacher calls at last
This game really is a blast
Last one standing is the winner,
I have but one last chance
to catch that shimmer.
Up, up in the air it goes,
I'm balancing on my toes
will I catch it? Or will it drop?
