My Talisman

It’s endless sea of brown and white fur,

It’s black beaded eyes,

It’s rose scented feet,

It’s large floppy ears,

This is my talisman.

Reminds me of blissful memories,

Takes away all my loneliness, fear and anger,

Watches every step I take on my long journey,

Helps me through hard times,

Celebrates good times with me,

This is what my talisman can do.

Although it is motionless,

Although it’s silent,

Although it can’t hear,

Although it’s heart does not beat,

Although it only sits on my bed each day,

My talisman can do anything.
