My Teddy

My Teddy
Hard and silver
As real as can be
Poor little eyes watch over me
Each and every night
She sits on my highest shelf
And is the colour of the moon
The sewn on heart threads memories
Of when I was quite young
Specks of silver float on her
She’s as shiny as a diamond
And sparkles in the sun
Even though her heart is sewn on
She uses it like it’s not
Small ribbon
Hanging from her neck
My teddy means a lot
And I’m glad that she’s with me
