Within a forest, within a mossy tree,

A tiny mushroom grows freely,

Ivory caps bulge out of a village of moss,

As towering trees twist and toss.

In a mangrove forest with verdant green leaves,

The sturdy roots weave through the sand,

But a thriving paradise lies beneath,

Under the blue of the water’s sheath.

In the heart of a desert, beside a great canyon,

A noble mountain stands in the trench’s view,

Prickly green towers, despite the drought,

Somewhat survive while others cannot.

Where cold and wind dominate the land,

A polar bear hunts stealthily through the bland,

Ravenous for fish and birds,

It waits for its helpless prey to surface.

But beyond the green and towering peaks,

A species itself overpowers nature,

As humans litter and destroy forests and creeks,

Nature stands helplessly, worrying about its fate.
