I scroll on my phone for almost the whole day,
Slowly rotting and fading away,
When I feel a light breeze creeping from my window;
Looking outside I see a glimpse of my youth,
And I hear a young girl's joyful laughs filling the silence.
She runs past my window;
However she is not just any girl,
She is me.

Her energy is drawing me outside;
With every step I take,
Another part of my innocence is regained.
As I begin to open the doorknob of my back door,
The world around me becomes more vibrant;
I'm stepping onto the grass with my bare feet,
For what feels like the first time in ages.
The grass on my skin and the breeze flowing through my hair.

I breathe in the fresh air, made by the trees;
The young girl holds my hand as I look down at her.
Flowers are blooming and the sky is clear.
We are one, bound by the gift of nature.
