Norfolk Island Parakeets

The little parakeet trotted along the grassy bottom of the Norfolk Island rainforest. Hopping and bopping between plants, because that’s just what it will do.
Sometimes I wish I was a pretty bird that could fly among the sky. Atop the trees I wish I could see the view the bird has too.
Little birds go flop flop flop, waddling along the floor. That's how it gets around, there is nothing more.
Norfolk Island parakeets hunting bits of food. Searching through the forest is a bit like a chore.
Hiding from cats and rats, the parents are scared.
They constantly fret for the life of their chicks.
Trying to stay away from the early settlers, the bird nested high in the trees. To stay safe from scary things the birds use their tricks.
Droplets of water drip onto the bird's heads. Rain is falling and water is near.
Foraging the forest the family looks around,
SNAP goes the jaws of the cat, that’s the last thing they hear.
