Not Forgotten

I remember when I received the gift
A soft sweet sphere of joy that I'll treasure
Once there was colour but now that's faded
The sound once echoed but now that's dying
The fluffy fur it had has now withered
But it's still there even though it's destroyed.
I still love it. The tattered soft toy.
It looks quite ugly to everyone else.
But to me it's a cute lil elephant.
Although it wakes me up with its loud sounds.
I still loved it with all my heart and soul.
But now it's lifeless. Dust covers its soft fur.
Nothing comes near it. It's been forgotten.
It was once played with but now it sits still.
