Opal Frog

Smooth and shiny
Small and special
Silver and colourful
Feels like small smooth feet
crawling across my chest
as it hangs from my neck.
Sounds like the hubbub of a shop,
Where I lost it many times.
Looks like my memories from when I was young,
Playing at the playground
With it grasped in my hand,
Tight.
Tastes like the biscuit I enjoyed eating
With it hanging light from my neck,
Everywhere I went.
I can see its green beady eyes staring at me,
Like the murky green water where it belongs.
Smells like the box where it sits,
Safe,
Never to be lost again.
