Our Homes Made, Their Homes Destroyed

I place my feet on the realms of annihilation
The tall grounds that thrived, crushed under the crane that placed the bricks on this house,
What is with us and our greed,
Our greed for wealth or our greed for land?
Helpless creatures lie motionless, seeing their homes falling on the dry leaves beneath,
They lose everything, seeing their homes die and our homes rise,
A new home in a shell of gloom, what other option do these homeless creatures have?
Why? Why do we need to take, don’t we have enough?
The residents of the land, distant from their origin,
And the travellers have taken it all,
With what right can we take the lives of life-givers,
Have we forgotten? We breathe their air.
Have we forgotten our roots,
Have we forgotten our origin,
Have we forgotten our nature?
Or have we forgotten nature?
