Over my Fence

The outdoor trees sway in the breeze
They gently lose their beautiful green jewels
Grass tickles my feet
The flowers look sadder than ever - Run my dear, they scream
I run with tears in my eyes
As every single leaf turns grey like the moon
I peer over my fence and see pain in their heart
I see litter on the ground
I run to help but two hands are not enough
Spring sees the return of colour and vibrant greens
They say hello again and cover me with joy
They are thankful for my actions
And forgive and try again for another season to survive
