Pebbles

Warm summer rain falls from above
Landing upon waxy viridescent leaves
Trickling off them and falling once more
Landing in a pebbly stream
Scorching rays of sun illuminate the trail
Lighting the road I am yet to face
Burning the soles of my feet as I walk
Lighting the pebbly path ahead
Clear ocean water washes over the shore
Running up the bank
Floodingeverything in its path
Running its fluid tendrils over the pebbly sand
Frozen snow finds its way ever downward
Falling towards the already coated ground
Alpine winds guide its path
Falling upon pebbly walking paths
Gradually the snow melts and finds its way
Landing in crevices made by water before it
Down the face of the mountain
Landing in a pebbly stream
