Perished Forest

The air sucked out of me,
as the kangaroo lands on me with its great force,
as it flees away from the crazy humans,
that ruin OUR forest,
the forest we live in.
I jump up and down,
the emu comes thundering towards me,
as three short blasts sound in the forest,
a shower of black and brown feathers,
the forest lays still,
as the loss of one dawns on the forest.
A feeling indescribable,
as everything is taken away,
I look around,
the pain, like touching glowing hot coals,
I can’t take anymore,
DESTRUCTION, DESTRUCTION, DESTRUCTION,
the humans have taken over OUR forest.
