Predicament

Despite a world of floods
We are still thirsty from drought
Ice breaking, seas rising
The future can be decided
But with our lack of care, the world is divided
And falling apart
Frightened
Tense
Trying to escape this tortuous predicament
Animal populations racing to extinction
More often now, faces are filled with sadness and depression
With our help by 2050
Maybe our world can be less shifty
As we glare at the oceans and seas
We should be thinking about the 15 billion trees
Which are cut down in a single year
I am not ashamed to shed a single tear
