Quokka under the moon

A smilling quokka lazes under a blossoming gum tree, then he hops to his feet.
Then he looks at me, his shiny black nose reflects the moon's light.
The bright light could fill an entire room.
Then he hops on the soft spikey grass, he jumps so he's jumping over the moon.
As he sees his reflection and thinks to himself: do I really look like that?
This amazing animal,
we should protect this amazing animal while we still can.
He's begging for help so, as he sleeps, he hopes for a miracle.
