In the heart of Western Australia, where the sun kisses the sea,

I, a quokka, roam wild and free,

With a smile so bright, like the morning sun,

I hop and play, having so much fun.

My fur is soft, like a velvet dream,

Eyes twinkle in the moonlit stream.

I nibble on leaves, crunch, crunch, crunch,

The sound of nature, my favourite lunch.

In the cool shade, I take a nap,

Dreaming of adventures, a gentle tap.

The wind whispers secrets, shhhh,  shhhh, shhhh,

As I bask in the warmth, feeling so bliss.

Though we’re few, just ten thousand strong,

We quokkas sing a helpful song.

With every smile, we spread delight,

In the wilds of WA, day and night.

With each sunset, we greet the night,

Under the stars, our hearts take flight.

In our cosy burrows, we find our rest,

“Peace begins with a smile,” we are truly blessed.
