Rainbow Eucalyptus

I am a rainbow eucalyptus 

Standing tall and fair 

Same spot every day 

Waiting for you to come  

When you come, you talk to me 

But I cannot speak back 

Every day you say to me  

“You are my only friend” 

It makes me feel all warm inside 

As if that is my purpose  

Every night when you leave 

Darkness threatens, it is so lonely 

But I know you will come back 

The very next day 

And speak with me again
