A lump of fluff lies on the

once luscious green.

Blending in, hiding, as a squeak

awakens the horizon.

As dusk approaches,

it is a game of hide and seek.

They look for food,

while cats and foxes look for them.

Who will win the game?

The tree glows in the thin air,

calling them home,

to safety and warmth.

Will they make it?

Who will help them?

If we don’t start now,

when will we?
