Reality

Whoosh, cry the whispering winds.
Weaving and wrapping around me.
Tall trees towering over my destiny.
As I travel into the unknown.
Another warning, the wind urges me to go.
I slowly follow its bellowing call,
Leading me to fathom the big mystery.
Reaching the final destination, silence envelops me.
The big question pierces my heart.
Strands of litter clinging to rocks,
Plastic wrappers flying in the air.
Guilt enters my body, ashamed of our actions.
What have we done to this beautiful world?
Steadily leaning forward,
Brushing my fingers against the trees.
Now releasing, I walk away.
Tears fill my eyes and roll down my face
Wondering,
Is this the beginning of our worldwide disgrace?
