Red Crabs

A slow animal crawling
Big claws crunching leaves
All you can hear is scratching
Round hairy and red
The scent of rubbish and poop
A hard red shell
Crawling, Crackling, Crunching
They migrate to the shore
All you can see is red
Creeping into a burrow
It travels across the island
She waits for the rain to drain out the heat
Dancing to get her eggs out
She creeps back to the sand
The eggs are drifting away
