Reminding Me (Perch Hole - Lake Cathie)

The air is thick with a salty smell
reminding me of a salty hug from earth's ocean breath.
The water is still like melted glass, like tears of joy
reminding me of blue sapphires.
The shy sky is full of clouds like thin blankets as white as milk
reminding me of the whitewash of crashing waves.
I wish I could float, float high and drink the milky clouds,
float and feel the glassy sapphire water on my skin,
float and breathe the salty fresh air.
See the trees reaching high, dancing with joy,
moving the elusive clouds with bristled leaves,
teasing the fish swimming below.
I wish you were here with me now
holding my hand
I will never let go.
