Right life?

Lakes were beautiful, clear, blue
shimmered like sapphire.
Rivers were fast as lightning,
but now they're black and flow like glue.
Lakes are browner than dirt and that’s frightening.
Emerald oceans stretched for miles.
Lush life for animals for centuries,
but look around there is no animals for as far as the eye can see.
Where'd all the trees go? Oh right, you turned them to piles.
Shifting dunes of blue jade,
in the depths there’s a mystery haven of aid.
They were beautiful but now they're 40% plastic.
You can’t see the bottom, it’s just a pit of muck.
