Riverbark

One thousand years old, whispering softly
The bees steal flower pollen sneakily
Tips of its branches tower loftily
Winds push branches together creakily
Roots wind around boulders in the earth
The powerful eagles nest in the branch
The cool shade helps the seeds ready for birth
Into a storm, leaves fall like an avalanche
The river licks greedily at the bank
Tall and broad burned by the sun
The ginormous gum's roots thirstily drank
Baby birds chirp in the tree having fun
Sleepy old owls nest in the tall wide tree
The river sloshes the trunk like a quay
