Far away, in a place I knew

Rocks sunbathed in teal waters

Hermits in dog whelk shells scuttled along.

But as a ripple passed through the water

An excavator plonked its scoop in

Panic swarmed as much as the disturbed sand

Rocks were fished from the pool

All life fled, and all who couldn’t

Were all dead.

Far away, in a place I know

Now lives a building.
