Safety Net

Handed down from an affectionate hand,
The bracelet a sleek gold and gleaming black,
Two circles fastened together,
One bigger, one smaller,
As a mother, as a daughter,
The encrusted G reminds me family is never far,
The bracelet is like a protective seal keeping the world away,
A story of secret tears and lonely days,
A hand extended out for a friend
Looking for someone to confide in,
A face encouraging up above,
The band of intertwined daises delicately woven together
Is just like a safety net,
So that no dreams or memories fly away,
For the bracelet catches each one in its net of creations,
Sorting through to find the purest of dreams,
The most contented memories
Tap, tap, tap it slaps against my wrist as an old friend
With the bracelet in hand,
Courage soars fiercely and freely
