Fluffy and soft
With a broken nose that is sharp
The colour of golden sand, eyes as black as a pan.
The size of a football flying through the air
Just a little bigger than a hand-sized toy bear.
The smooth fur running through your hand
any less soft and it would be bland.
In the shape of a puppy lying down,
It could pounce on its prey or be quiet for a day.
A flick of his ears and a wag of his tail, ‘Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh.’
I brought him here for you today,
So you could see how much he means to me
I caught a glimpse of him in the toy store.
Feelings stirred within my heart,
And since that day I knew,
That he would forever be mine.
I keep him in my room.
I’ve owned him since I was nine,
Every night, when I lay down to rest,
He gently whispers, “Keep me in your heart forever.”
