Sapphire

A small figurine with a great value.
As I run my finger across it,
I get a smooth feeling in some places
and a rough feeling in others.
A little brown bear with a blue dress
holding a bouquet of pink flowers
and wearing a white hat;
it looks so elegant, but there is still
something I admire the most about it:
a beautiful sapphire gem
held in the middle
of the bouquet of flowers
the sapphire is my birthstone,
something that tells me about my birth.
I received my figurine
as a gift
when I turned eight.
It is very special to me
and I would be sad if I lost it.
