In the depths of the ocean, deep and still,

A turtle once had a pearl of gold.

A gift of love, shining bright and bold,

A treasure that his heart did thrill.

But a storm arose, fierce and wild,

And tossed the turtle, meek and mild.

In the chaos, the pearl slipped free,

Lost to the depths of the roiling sea.

He searched the sands and reefs in vain,

For his pearl had slipped away in the rain.

Though his shell was plain, his spirit stayed,

For love and hope could never fade.

So, when you see a turtle with a shell so bare,

Think of the pearl and the love he’d share.

For in his heart, though the pearl was gone,

The light of love still shone on.
