Distinguishing and admiring the serene, soothing mountain view,

Waterfall cascading, inventing a satisfying sound, so peaceful.

Chirping crickets, fond of this moderate temperature.

Ants racing each other like scurrying pirates under the dappled sunlight.

A sense of serendipity, drifting towards me,

Lavender fragrance, raindrops rippling the river.

Dew fading from luscious, sage evergreens,

Dripping on thriving rose buds and a trail of jasmine petals.

Auburn leaves crackle by the sole of my shoes,

A forest of redwood trees with flora and fauna.

My calls of ‘Hello?’  fracture the deafening silence,

A wondrous sense of tranquillity pierced only by my steps.

Leaves rustled by the ferocious, fierce wind.

Murmuring, muttering, mumbling about,

Which one shall flutter and fall to the ground?

Nature: a place to escape and be free,

A place for me, a place to be.
