Soccer Ball

It was late one night,
At the World Cup final,
“Cheer, cheer, cheer,” went the fans
As they cheered for both Argentina and Spain.

The whistle went for the start of the game,
The ball was passed around,
It bounced up and down,
It rolled here and there,
Until it suddenly popped!

So they brought on a new ball,
Except they did not know,
That this new ball,
Had a mind of its own!

It ran away from players,
Deliberately missed the goal,
And was hitting them hard,
Until they had to go off.

This went on for the whole game,
To the 89th minute,
When Lionel Messi had had enough,
And banged in a goal from the halfway line
To win 1-0
