South China Tiger

Piercing yellowish eyes of the beast
Stalking with its striped fur for a feast
A true beauty of nature, dangerous and agile
Feel free to stare for a while
Soon this tiger will go missing
The roars and orange tail swishing
Soon will be lost to poaching
Illegally killing tigers for flaunting
Do you think you can ignore it anymore?
Acting like restoration is nothing but a chore
South of China, where it lived
How could it ever forgive?
Beautiful stripes, reduced to rugs
Tiger teeth, removed with a tug
Sold off to the wealthy without a thought
Living in the wild, just to be caught
If this goes on, jungles will be eerily silent
No orange fur, that’s so elegantly vibrant
One day all tigers will go extinct
Just because we did not care to think.
