Sterling Silver

Light glimmers in fine silver restraints;
round and petite with elegance
Light flickers in calm silver jewellery,
two sterling earrings with me
Days came where I forgot you,
lost you, became bored of you
but you were there with me on that day;
the day I discovered the world
You were there the day when he chased me through the train;
the brain in my head bleeding with raw panic
You were there as he spoke to me,
his rough voice sounding of gravel
You were there the night when I was surrounded by family;
hugs and laughter pulsing through rich air
You were elegant that night as I thought
what a wonderful place the world is
As your glimmer fades away
and your silver dulls down
I still wear you
For you were there the day I discovered the world
