Still Standing

The heat is coming,

No one cares about the earth,

It's closing in

Heatwaves and bushfires

Droughts, wildlife depleting

Hot days, long hot nights

Firefighters arrive.

Climates activists take charge.

Rainfall dowses bushfires

Wildlife endangered.

Firefighters can’t save them all.

Trees, reduced to ash.

We’ve left it too long.

But we can repair our Earth.

And change our mindset.

The bushfires have stopped.

One lone eucalyptus left.

Charred, but still standing.
