Stories of Old

Light breaks through the leaves
The constant voices that whisper
Of air that was once crisper
And all the stories.
Stories of forests bigger than oceans
Of water infinite that never-ended
And of nature that amended itself
And the quiet, breathless motion.
Stories of oceans with a beautiful creature
That felt more alive as you got deeper.
Swimming in water as clear as glass
Were sights that could make your heart beat fast.
Tales of animals of olde,
Brave, kind and bold.
Great monsters that once roamed as kings,
With fur, hide or wings.
So I listen with wonder to these stories of olde,
Of creatures in water clear and cold.
Stories of air cleaner than ever,
Listening, wishing, wanting forever.
