I see the forest up ahead

That is not ready for my arrival.

My fiery glow gets brighter and brighter,

Fuelling my survival.

I smell the freshness in the air

that lingers around the trees.

But yet do they know that when fire arrives,

I will devour them with extraordinary ease.

I touch the tree and it starts to burn,

I am getting stronger and stronger.

But the forest seems to be bigger

and I know I don’t have longer.

I hear the sirens up ahead and I know I need to be quick.

But soon the firefighters arrive,

it makes me feel sick.

The firefighters arrive, I am feeling scared.

They are readying the hose.

My attack on this innocent forest is coming to a close.

The water gushes all around me. I struggle to stay alight.

But my attack on this innocent forest has failed for me tonight.
