Storms Ripping Up My Life

A storm arises in the night,

Shaking up my perfect world,

I thought I would be safe standing still in a place I call home,

But the hurricane came and went,

Showing no remorse,

For me or for anyone,

Destroying everyone in its path including me,

Tearing me down,

I raise my guard,

Never wanting to let another danger in,

But I heard it coming all over again,

There’s nowhere to run, nowhere to hide,

I feel alone, my room is no longer an escape,

It’s been here, used my things,

It will never be the same again,

I want to tell the world,

But it stole my tongue and I have no words to speak,

Always have something to say but the storm took that part of me,

never to be seen again,

The happy girl disappears, now darkness fills the void
